This chart shows the Key Stage 2 results for 2007. It indicates the percentage of pupils eligible for KS2 tests (usually 11 year olds) who achieved or exceeded the expected level (level 4)

How have our results changed over time?
Results in the three core subjects have always been above county and national averages. SAT results in English and science have been consistent; maths results, whilst satisfactory overall, have shown a slight dip. The numbers of pupils achieving the above average level 5 is increasing.

- Careful liaison between colleagues, including record keeping and tracking systems
- Moving towards providing many more opportunities for pupils personalized learning to work at their own level, eg Personal Challenges in Years five and six
- Through the provision of a broad, balanced and enriched curriculum, eg the teaching of French and many international partnerships
- Provision/needs, mapping and matching of staff deployment
How are we working with parents and the community?
- Governors “School Development Committee” has a focus of improving communication
- Regular opportunities to come in to school and see their children’s work and teacher
- Use of buildings by the community (eg Mustard Tree church)
- Links with local schools and universities
- Recognised for the quality of its work with trainee teachers
What have pupils told us about the school, and what have we done as a result?
- Very positive views
- Regular opportunity for feedback through questionnaires and discussions
- Development of the grounds in Partnership with the Friends of the School (eg Trim Trail, ‘The Forest’)
- Growth of the School Council and concerns over real issues such as bullying are taken seriously. Members of the School Council have visited Bath Spa University and also spoken to teachers and visitors at an in-service day organized by “Kidscape”
How do we make sure our pupils are healthy, safe and well-supported?
- All staff are qualified and highly professional. Learning support assistants becoming more specialized (eg healthcare)
- Pride and care taken in our grounds and buildings
- All relevant training and statutory requirements are met
- Good communication channels which include the pupils’ perspectives
- Breakfast club on premises – staffed by school staff

What activities and options are available to pupils?
A wide range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities:
- After school clubs; football, rugby, rounders, netball, French, drama, recorders. In May 2006 the school’s mixed tag rugby team represented Bristol in a special tag rugby display held at Twickenham. In May 2007 the school succer team won the South Goucestershire Cup.
- Possibility of serving on the school council
- An enriched curriculum including many international school to school partnerships
- Use of fully equipped learning lab and interactive whiteboards in every classroom
What do our pupils do after leaving this school?
- Transfer to as many as 10 different secondary school settings each year
- Great majority enjoy successful school careers, often re-visiting us for work experience
What have we done in response to Ofsted?
- SEF produced/plan to use this as discussion document with all staff
- Headteacher observation/monitoring/professional discussions refined
- Reviewed curriculum provision to enhance the teaching of geography
- OFSTED reported the school as being Outstanding in all categories (July 2007)
